The authors present a case of acute respiratory insufficiency due to transfusion-related acute lung injury (TRALI) in a young female with no previous medical history, who experienced a massive transfusion because of hemorrhagic shock resulting from
a spontaneous fetal abortion. Recent approach of the pathomechanizm and management of TRALI are also depicted. To our best knowledge, it is the first publication in Polish, focus on TRALI.
