Use of bronchofiberoskopy in larynx examination

Bronchofiberoscopy is usually used to diagnostic of pulmonary diseases. Besides this indication we can use it to examination other important structures of human body, like nasal cavity, pharynx and especially larynx. In the first part of this article authors focus on indications, contraindications, side effects and basic rules of doing bronchofiberoscopy in this situations. They describe how patient should be prepared, and how to deal with patient after bronchoscopy.

In the second part we can find essential description of anatomical larynx structure and characteristics features of the most common larynx diseases. Amongst other larynx cancers, acute and chronic larynx inflammation and vocal cords movement disorders, which we can find for example in pathologies of nervous system. Brochofiberoscopy is very useful tool in removing foreign bodies from larynx, pharynx and intubation especially in difficult anatomical conditions.
