Postexercise bronchoconstriction is a typical symptom of asthma. Asthma is found more often in persons practiced intensive endurance training professionally, required very intensive exercise, especially with coexisting exposition for cold, dry air. The consequence of airway damage, elicited by allergic and irritant mechanisms, is eosinophilic and neutrophilic inflammation. Participation of sportsmen with asthma in competitions is dependent on proper treatment of this disease. However, they do not need take drugs, which in forbidden way could augment their chances during competition with healthy persons. The results of many studies indicate, that inhaled anti-asthmatic drugs do not improve sport results in healthy sportsmen.
