Introduction: A rare, but valuable modification of Skin-Prick tests is a Prick by Prick test using native allergens (fresh fruit and vegetables).

The aim: Compare diagnostic valuable of Prick by Prick tests using fresh fruit and vegetables and Skin Prick tests using standardized allergens in patients treated in the Outpatients Clinic of Allergic Diseases because of suspection of food allergy.

Material and Methods: The research was carried out in 100 patients (59F and 41M) aged 7-62 treated in the Outpatients Clinic of Allergic Diseases. Every patient was interviewed for allergy history and family history of diseases.

Every patient had:
1. Skin Prick Tests for 8 food allergens
2. Native tests Prick by Prick using fresh fruits, vegetables and peanuts.

Results: In the group 56 (56%) patients had positive allergic family history. 80 (80%) patients suffered from allergic diseases other then food allergy. In 17 (17%) cases Skin-Prick tests were positive for at least one food allergen, but in 37 (37%) patients skin tests were positive when diagnosed using Prick-by-Prick test with fresh fruits, vegetables and peanuts. In 34 (34%) cases we diagnosed more positive skin tests using Prick by Prick method then using conventional tests with standardized allergens. In 63 cases (63%) the results were consistent and in 3 (3%) cases the diagnosis was contradict (conventional tests were not confirmed by Prick by Prick tests). The most common positive skin tests using native allergens occure to celery and carrot.

Conclusion: Prick by Prick tests may be a valuable method to complete the diagnosis of patients with suspection of food allergy.
